Dua Lipa and Callum Turner Got Married.
It Started With a Book.

June 7, 2026  ·  Brewtiful Living

Two people walk into a dinner in Los Angeles. They sit next to each other. They look down and realise they are reading the exact same book — not just the same book, but both on the exact same page. He says: "So, we're on the same page." She later tells Vogue she took it as a sign. Two and a half years later, they are married in an 18th-century Baroque villa in Sicily, surrounded by 200 of their closest friends, with Elton John performing and a library display full of colourful books in the corner as a wink to the moment that started everything. Dua Lipa and Callum Turner's wedding is, genuinely, a love story. And we are going to enjoy every detail of it.

The Book That Started It All

"I said, 'So we're on the same page.' In the movie version of it, I look up to the sky and I'm like, 'I hear you. I understand.'"

— Callum Turner, The Sunday Times, 2025

Before they got to that restaurant table, they almost didn't get there at all. Dua and Callum had what she described to Vogue as a series of Sliding Doors near-misses — moving through overlapping London and LA circles without quite landing in the same room at the same time. The most painfully close: he arrived at a party minutes after she had left. At their first brief encounter, at London's River Café, nothing came of it. When they finally sat down together at dinner in Los Angeles in January 2024 — she was there with her friend Mustafa the Poet, he was in town for the Masters of the Air premiere — she recognised him and thought, in her words, "Oh, it's that really hot guy from the River Café."

Then he noticed her book. She noticed his. They were both reading Trust by Hernán Díaz. And not just reading it — they had both, independently, just finished the first chapter. The rest you already know.

Trust

The Book That Did It

Trust
Hernán Díaz · 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction

A layered historical novel about an early 20th-century Wall Street tycoon and his wife, told through four conflicting narratives that each rewrite the last. It's a book about power, money, and whose version of a story gets to be the official one. Make of that what you will. The Sicily wedding weekend featured a library display of colourful books as a direct callback to the moment — and yes, Trust was front and centre.

The Wedding — All of It

There were technically two weddings. The legal one was first — intimate, quiet, and devastatingly chic. The party was Sicily.

May 31, 2026
The civil ceremony — Old Marylebone Town Hall, London. Small, private, just close family and friends. Dua wore custom Schiaparelli haute couture and $500,000 worth of Bulgari diamonds. Callum wore a navy Ferragamo suit. She was photographed leaving in a cloud of confetti, looking exactly as happy as she should.
June 5
Welcome party, Palermo — The Sicily leg officially began. Dua debuted her first wedding dress of the weekend: a backless, sleeveless Bottega Veneta gown with a feathered floor-sweeping skirt. Callum wore a sharp tan suit. They kissed to cheers from their guests in the centre of Palermo. Charli XCX and George Daniel were there. Joe Alwyn was there. It was A Lot in the best way.
June 5–7
Three days, Villa Valguarnera — an 18th-century Baroque estate in Palermo. The full celebration: 200 guests, a reported $1.7 million cost, Donatella Versace on the guest list, Elton John performing. The décor included a library installation — colourful books stacked as a tribute to Trust and the first chapter where everything started.

Who Is Callum Turner, Actually
Callum Turner

If you are doing that thing where you suddenly need to know everything about the person a famous woman married, here is your cheat sheet. Callum Turner is 35, British, and has been quietly building a very solid acting career for the better part of a decade. He was in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and its sequel. He was in The Capture, for which he received a BAFTA nomination. And in 2024, he co-starred in AppleTV+'s Masters of the Air alongside Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan — which is the premiere Dua attended in January 2024, which is the trip that led to the dinner, which led to the book, which led to here.

He is also, as the internet noted upon discovering him, extremely good-looking in a way that feels slightly unfair to the rest of us. When the Masters of the Air premiere photos dropped — Turner, Butler, and Keoghan, all in one frame — the collective reaction was a documented public event. He has since starred in A24's Eternity. His fashion campaign work is tasteful and slightly smouldering. He previously dated The Crown's Vanessa Kirby. He is, in short, exactly the type of man you would look across a dinner table at and think: oh, it's that really hot guy.

The Sicily Guest List — A Selection

Charli XCX with husband George Daniel of The 1975 Elton John performing Joe Alwyn yes, Taylor's ex — also Callum's co-star Donatella Versace Troye Sivan Mark Ronson Kevin Parker Tame Impala Grace Gummer in black lace

The Joe Alwyn attendance is going to need its own paragraph. Turner and Alwyn co-starred in The Last Letter from Your Lover, so the friendship is legitimate and pre-dates any of this. But Alwyn is also Taylor Swift's ex — the relationship that ended in 2023, after which she released an album containing at minimum several songs widely understood to be about him. He showed up to the wedding in blue. The internet will do with this what the internet does. We're just reporting the guest list.

Three confirmed Dua Lipa wedding looks across the full wedding weekend — and the main Sicily ceremony dress is still forthcoming as of this writing, so this list is very much subject to updating:

The London civil ceremony: Custom Schiaparelli haute couture. Paired with $500,000 in Bulgari diamonds. She wore a gold-lined hat. The whole look was widely compared to Bianca Jagger's 1971 wedding to Mick Jagger — chic, intentional, and doing exactly what it came to do. If you're going to reference Bianca Jagger, you'd better have the bones to pull it off. She did.

The welcome party, Palermo: Bottega Veneta. White, backless, feathered skirt, floor-sweeping. A halter neckline that required a whole lot of confidence and delivered. Not a traditional bridal look. Entirely correct for a three-day extravaganza in Sicily in June.

The main ceremony: Photos pending. Given the trajectory of this wedding's style choices, expectations are catastrophically high and we will update accordingly.

What She Said About All of It

"This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever — it's a really special feeling."

— Dua Lipa, British Vogue, 2025

Dua Lipa has always been unusually good at talking about love without making it embarrassing. When she confirmed the engagement to British Vogue in June 2025, she said: "Yeah, we're engaged. It's very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever — it's a really special feeling." Which is either genuinely that simple or the most artfully understated way to announce an engagement in the history of celebrity interviews. Probably both.

Of the ring — which Turner had made for her, a round-cut diamond estimated at around 2 carats: "I'm obsessed with it. It's so me." Of their relationship in general, she told Harper's Bazaar: "I've spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I'm letting go of that feeling and just being like, 'Okay, if I'm supposed to get hurt, then this is what's going to happen.' I have to just allow love."

For his part, Turner's definition of love is worth keeping: "I think true love is moments, consistency. It can't be just one grand, sweeping thing. It's all the little things and big things together, it's an amalgamation, right? I think that's what true love is." The man who used a book pun as his opening line and somehow made it work. An amalgamation. We're rooting for them.

Elton John, "Your Song," and £5,000 to Angry Locals

A few details that deserve their own mention. First: Elton John serenaded the couple at the Palermo ceremony — reportedly performing "Your Song," which is either the most obvious choice possible or the most perfect one. Probably both. Second: the wedding generated enough disruption to Palermo's streets that the couple paid £5,000 in compensation to local residents who were inconvenienced by the three-day celebration. This is, genuinely, a flex. You've made it when your wedding requires a community settlement. Third, Dua shared her own Instagram carousel from the London ceremony — captioned simply "31.05.2026 🤍" — which promptly broke the internet in the gentlest possible way.

Walking down the aisle in that warm glow of the magic hour felt like our own little secret. Like the rest of the world kept turning in chaos, and we had this small little nook of the world to ourselves.

— Dua Lipa, Vogue, 2026

We will be updating this piece as the main ceremony photos drop. In the meantime, the bar for celebrity wedding coverage has been quietly raised by two people who met over a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, got married twice, and thought a library installation was a reasonable wedding décor choice. It is. It absolutely is.
